EIT Food selects Enviu as venture building partner for seedbed venture catalyst programme

Rotterdam, Monday 28 th April— EIT Food has selected Enviu as one of seven venture building studios to deliver its Seedbed Venture Catalyst programme, a flagship initiative designed to transform early-stage food innovations into scalable, high-impact ventures.

The selection brings in Enviu’s distinctive approach to venture building that prioritizes systemic impact, ecosystem development, and real-world applicability in tackling some of the most urgent challenges facing the global food system.

Addressing a critical gap in Europe’s innovation pipeline

Across Europe, high-potential food innovations often struggle to make the transition from research to market. While the region benefits from world-class scientific research and increasing access to capital at later stages, a critical gap remains at the earliest phase of venture creation; where ideas must be validated, de-risked, and translated into viable business models.

At the same time, the food system faces mounting pressure from climate change, resource constraints, and shifting consumer expectations. Addressing these challenges requires not only breakthrough ideas, but also the ability to rapidly turn those ideas into scalable solutions.

Through the Seedbed Venture Catalyst programme, EIT Food is tackling this challenge head-on by partnering with leading venture builders to support early-stage innovation and accelerate the commercialization of food system solutions.
