Enviu Partners with the Nando & Elsa Peretti Foundation to Regenerate Ecosystems and Strengthen Farmer Resilience in Kenya

Nairobi, Wednesday, 16th April – A just and sustainable food system should nourish both people and the planet. We are proud to announce that Enviu is partnering with the Nando & Elsa Peretti Foundation (NAEPF) to expand regenerative agriculture interventions into Machakos County, Kenya. This collaboration builds upon the progress made in Makueni County, bringing nature-based solutions to smallholder farmers and restoring degraded soils into biodiverse, productive landscapes. Together, we carry forward a shared vision to advocate for environmental conservation, protect nature, and uplift vulnerable communities.

Restoring Soil, Supporting Farmers, and Protecting Nature

For the past three years, Enviu’s regenerative agriculture initiatives have been transforming the way smallholders farm their land in Makueni County—restoring soil health, increasing biodiversity, and strengthening their climate resilience. Our work equips farmers with the knowledge and tools to transition away from harmful farming practices and towards techniques that nurture the land. We achieve this by developing sustainable, market-driven models that motivate and maintain farmers’ transition to regenerative agriculture and ultimately create vibrant rural economies.

Now, in partnership with NAEPF, we are scaling these initiatives to Machakos County, enabling 2,000 smallholder farmers to adopt regenerative practices that replenish the land and secure their economic future. This initiative will:

- Revitalize soil health and biodiversity, creating thriving ecosystems that sustain agriculture.

- Increase nutritious food production and achieve higher yields through regenerative methods.

- Strengthen farmer livelihoods by connecting smallholder farmers to reliable markets for sustainable and fairly grown produce.

- Expand regenerative agriculture markets, growing demand for food cultivated in harmony with nature.
